He states that the author of the second part is unknown. Pieter, in his Annales de l'imprimerie des Elsevier, says that the second part is Rohan's "Interets et maximes des princes". However, according to Bib. nat., v. 154, p. 679, the first part of the work has been attributed erroneously to Rohan and the real author is Gatien Sandras de Courtilz while the second part, the "Maximes", contains important extracts from Rohan.)
